Westview completed numerous deliverables for the revitalization of the 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver, all intended to provide “Moments of Joy” for tourists and locals alike. Vibrant hexagonal platforms and planters are inspired by bees and the flowers they pollinate. The platforms are powder coated steel and topped with heat modified white ash, while the planters are powder coated formed aluminum. Sustainability themed action walls combine materials (steel and granite) to create resting places for people to gather along the mall. Finally, Scattered Leaves is an interactive sculpture featuring pressure activated sounds and lights so as people stand or sit on the leaf structures sounds of nature and light patterns coincide with their movements. We worked with PCL to bring Dig Studio’s vision for a revitalized plaza to life. We couldn’t be more excited about bringing our custom fabrication capabilities to this huge project, especially in the city we call our home.
