Crawford High School

San Diego, California

Working alongside Sprotte + Watson Architecture and Planning, Idibri a Salas O’Brien Company, and Turner Construction to complete the project, Westview was responsible for installation of the lighting package, rigging, and stage curtains in the auditorium space, and designed custom controls for operation of the rigging and lighting systems, resulting in a venue that features cutting edge design and state of the art technology.  The auditorium space includes 12 ETC Prodigy hoists which allows for easier access to rigging positions, complete with a custom control panel both backstage and in the lighting control booth for maximum operability. The Black Box Theater, which is used as a drama classroom and multipurpose space, features reconfigurable seating and platforms, as well as a pipe grid which allows for the space to be used for a multitude of purposes, from art gallery to theatrical set. Westview also trained staff on how to operate the custom control panels, allowing for both spaces to be used for custom and unique purposes, ultimately creating an environment ideal for teaching, and learning theatrical arts.
